"Apples and Old Bottles"

This still-life was painted from photos I took over 10 years ago. The arrangement includes two bright red apples, the variety of which I can’t recall. Also included are some antique bottles I borrowed from my wife for the photo shoot. Fortunately, I didn’t break any of them!

The painting was executed Alla prima over a light Burnt Sienna tone. I really liked the unintentional compositional element the hard linen crease contributed to the final work. Without that, the painting would have looked quite different!
